Things to do in San Jose with Kids

There are so many travelers out there that consider San Jose to be a destination for business travelers only!  However, that couldn’t be further from than truth, because there are plenty of things to do with kids In San Jose!

Here are 4 things to do with kids in San Jose:

1. Visit Happy Hollow Park and Zoo

One of the best San Jose kids’ activities is the Happy Hollow Park and Zoo.  Children of all ages will be thrilled to see all the animals, especially the leaping lemurs, jumping Parma wallabies, and the adorable red pandas.  When you have had your fill of animals, you can all venture over to the park area to explore the Crooked House, dine at the Picnic Basket Restaurant, and go on a few of the rides in the Giggle Grove area.

2. Visit the Tech Museum of Innovation

The Tech Museum of Innovation is another one of the best kid friendly activities in San Jose and your entire family will love the hands-on experiences you will have as you wander through the exhibits.  Everyone can be a detective in the Cyber Detectives exhibit, and it is all about health within Innovations in Health Care and Body Worlds Decoded.  With so many exhibits inside this museum, it is completely possible for you to spend an entire day there as you have fun and learn a ton!

3. Visit the Winchester Mystery House

The Winchester Mystery House is not one of the kid friendly activities in San Jose that is good for really young children, but those who are a little older will appreciate the intriguing rooms and long dark passageways.  While you can wander through the gardens surrounding this house on your own, it is highly recommended that you participate in one of the tours that are offered.  The Mansion Tour takes a little over an hour and during that time, you will see more than one hundred of the one hundred and sixty rooms inside.  There are many bizarre details, so pay attention!

This wildlife and nature refuge is one of the best outdoor kid friendly activities in San Jose!  Your entire family will love wandering along the trails near the uplands, ponds, and marshes, as you look for the local wildlife that calls this area home.  These animals are excellent at hiding though, so you will all need to keep your eyes open if you want to capture a glimpse of a California gray fox or a harbor seal.
